Busy Month in April 2010

One of the 2 nations is the Philippines where among other things I teamed up with Ps Richard Tng of Rock International Church, Sydney for a combined 6 churches Youth Camp. It was a most wonderful time of ministry to the young - always glad to impart to a new generation for Jesus!

My first stop was Cebu where I connected a flight to Tacloban City, Leyte Island, Central Philippines. We were met by Singapore missionaries, Ps Dennis and Daisy Koh, who are by the way, the most hospitable hosts you will ever find in this nation. I reckon any trip to this city isn't going to be the same if the couple is unable to assist you!

Dream Quest Xtreme Missions (DQX)

It was the 6th anniversary of this ministry and I was glad to be the speaker. I had been associated with DQX since its inception and was happy to see that better days are ahead for them.

I see DQX being very successful in establishing a School of Ministry, training local nationals in ministry and church-planting and in time, also leading a renewal nationally on Children Ministries in this city and surrounding ones. The potential is exciting indeed!

Burauen Community Church (BCC)

My next ministry was preaching at BCC where British missionary Ps Mark Anderton and wife, Belen have been labouring for the Lord in this city for some years. It was an appointed time in that I was able to minister to Mark and Belen with words of encouragement for the next step in their lives.

The couple and children will leave for UK for a year. I believe God has plenty in store for them; they will be found at the right place, at the right time and with the right people!

New Life Community Church (NLCC)

Sunday evening saw me at NLCC. It was well attended for a Sunday night meeting - and I was glad. I had a word in season for the church and the fact that many of them are young and upwardly mobile people just add an excitement to what God can do for this city - and nation.

Combined Youth Camp 2010

It was awesome to have more than 100 young people at the camp. The camp site was good, food even better, music and worship was typically young people (which means loud, boisterous but lively!) and the Word was nourishing for all.

The final night commitment to the call of God upon lives blew minds away. Many young people (up to 4 rows) responded to the call - what a great future awaits this city and nation.

It was by far, the most wonderful camp I have been to!

Young people everywhere; we had a bunch of new unchurched people there, and there were saved at the altar on the last night! The young people were great worshippers and they were full of energy and buzz indeed

Young people were completely lost in worship; they were dancing, shouting and swinging in rhythm!! The Word was powerful and it was being readily adsorbed by the young ones.

Cebu Ministry - SoM

My next stop was Cebu City; the second largest city in the Philippines after Manila. Ps Dennis and Daisy came with me on this segment of the ministry whilst Ps Richard Tng headed back to Singapore.

We were hosted by Faith Family Church pastors and leaders - and they were good hosts, friendly and eager to serve the Lord's servants and ever willing to help us.

Dinner on the first night at Cebu city; the mall was huge, contemporary and nice. Food was even better - thanks to Ps Gladys' (4th from right) choice of restaurant. Singaporean Michelle (on extreme right), doing a short-term sting in Cebu for Jesus. Our great hosts taking us around in the church's four wheel vehicle.

Faith Family Church (FFC) Cebu

My final Sunday ministry was in FFC. I was glad to be there and being able to minister to a good number of people who responded to the altar service. It was, without doubt a word in season for many!

Strategy Session with DQX

This trip was also for the expressed purpose of helping Ps Dennis and Daisy strategise their ministry - and I was glad that we did. We spent hours over 3 days, both in TAC and Cebu, looking at how to bring focus to their ministry after 13 years in the Philippines.

They were great lisenters and hopefully, the way forward is crystal clear and the results beginning to show; not that there were no results and when you consider that they have a premium kindergarten attracting the best and the brightest kids in town, you know God has blessed them with success!

Still, it was good that clarity has come and I look forward to seeing the couple doing awesome work for Jesus.

Fun, Fun Fun!

Ministry is never complete without a bit of relaxation and fun. And did we have fun....
