An Awesome Time in the Philippines

The Philippines, in particular Tacloban City has always been on my heart ever since I first stepped into the City to meet Ps Dennis and Daisy Koh, Singapore missionaries to the city. This March 2009 trip had shaped up to be one of the best, if not the best!

Our theme was transformation - and indeed, we saw major transformation in hearts, lives, mindsets, processes, levels of co-operation and collaboration, among other things.....We saw physical changes as we brought tangible help to the Woman's Prison in the City, support for many individuals and a "makeover" in a home for a family who live in the slum area. It was simply wonderful.

We had a team of 4 people and we experienced transformation as well.....It was good that we can impact a City for Jesus.

Sagkahan Slum

There is a tremendous work taking place in this slum. Ps Dennis and Daisy are seeing miracles in lives, environment and the salvation of individuals and children. They are also feeding the children each week in addition to helping out specific families.

New Life Christian Missions - NLCM

Always a pleasure to minister in the former works of Ps Dennis when he was with CNL Singapore. The work continues to grow. It was good to meet and catch up with many of the NLCM pastors and leaders whom I had ministered to in previous trips.

This was my first service and the turnout was excellent. Holy Spirit was there to minister to lives....

TAC Pastoral Conference

This is my 3rd year back-to-back conference with Ps Enzo Maisano of Enjoy Church, Melbourne. It is perhaps one of the best, if not the best conference I have had! It was well attended for a start and the enthusiasm was awesome.

Many pastors and leaders were greatly blessed. Many came to testified that God touched them in a special way. The Word was powerful and ministry was good. Pastors are asking that we return next year.

Even the Mayor of Tacloban City (right to Ps Steven) turned up to speak at one session - he was inspirational!	It was wonderful to see pastors and leaders streaming in for the registration on Day One

TAC Prison Ministry

We had the opportunity to visit and minister at the women's wing in the city's prison. It was thrilling to see many of the inmates are already Christians - they were singing, testifying and giving God the glory for a changed life!

We were ministered by them - really. What an awesome challenge! We are just glad that in the end, we were able to contribute our conference's offering to the prison so that somehow, the inmates would benefit from our gift.

Youth Convergence

We had more than 200 young people attended this one-day convergence. Holy spirit was there - many of the young people committed their lives for the service of God. A good number of them received Jesus as Lord and Savior publicly for the first time.

It was just so good to see young people crying buckets at the altar. I always believe that when young people can cry before God, they are OK! God has a special time for them.

I am looking forward to spending more time with them in 2010!

Paseo Slum

We ministered in yet another slum. The work here is even better. Results are beginning to come in as evident by the number of people attending Ps Dennis' Dream Quest Xtreme Church.

Looking at the lives of the people, you can only say that it is the miraculous hand of God. They are so changed.

Ministry at Tacloban City Church

This is my favorite church. Always a pleasure to minister to the Chinese community in TAC. I was privileged to pray for many at the end of the Sunday service including the leadership and family.

New Life Christian Church

NLCC is perhaps the most vibrant church in town. They have a great worship team and the culture of this young people church is awesome. Always enjoyed a great worship in their services.

I spoke to the Youth on a Friday evening and the Holy Spirit was there. Just about all who attended were at the altar receiving from the Lord what He had seeded in their hearts.

Great to see young people committing their lives to God.
