Longest Trip Ever - North America

Ps Lasben Sitinjak

I had a great time with Ps Lasben Sitinjak of Detroit, Michigan for 2days and 3 nights in NYC. We connected when we were in Jogja, Indonesia in April this year. Ps Lasben then connected me to the ICCC in Toronto, Canada.

It was good that I could extend my InSight ministry to him - helping him obtain further clarity and affrimation as regards his ministry and church in Detroit....hopefully I will next visit and minister in his church next year.

We have kindered spirit.....praise God!

NEW YORK CITY

We were privileged to stay at a beautiful apartment in Flushing, Queens. Flushing is right where the Tennis US Open 08 is currently playing (a subway station away from us!). Yvonne of Bethel Chinese Assembly was a wonderfully generous person to allow us to have the apartment to ourselves - well almost...we had a Malaysian pastor and his wife joined us a week later.

Camp at Elverson, Pennsylvania

What a wonderful camp we had with Bethel Chinese Assembly, NYC! We were just over 40 people but we had a great time connecting with each other and with the Lord. Many received a specific touch from the Lord. It was a time of prophetic impartation, recommitment and renewal. One new person accepted the Lord during the camp. My interpreter Kam was simply wonderful. He was so touched in his heart.

I also conducted a session on Change and Transition; and on Saturday spent a day helping Ps Jason Quah to conduct a strategic review of BCA. It went really well....

Asian Assembly of God

I was ministering at AAG on Sunday morning. We were a small group but we have a really good time of spiritual impartation. Ps Doug Bolan was away interstate...but I hope to catch up with him on my next trip!

Ps Steven & Dorothy with Ps Yan San and her son, John. Ps Doug was away... Indian dinner with Molly, & husband, Ps Jason and Yvonne...dinner was good. Fellowship was even better!

Meeting Molly Tay

The night before, I was surprised with a dinner by Molly Tay and her husband...Molly was formerly a pastor at God at Work Church, Singapore. What a surprise! Molly is in NY to look after her first grand child....It was good to see her and to know that her hubby is now saved....Mr. Tay accepted the Lord a year ago!

Prayer in The Square

We were privileged to participate in one hour in prayers at Times Square. Ps Jason obtained for us two passes into the pastors reserved section. We had seats and were given two beautiful umbrellascold drinks....

The prayer was wonderful. The choir was absolutely great. And the atmosphere of prayer was something....we had a most enjoyable time.

Toronto Ministry

I was most privileged to minister in Toronto, Canada. The last time I was there I ministered in a few Sri Lankan churches....this time the Lord amazingly opened doors for me to minister in an Indonesian and Singapore/Malaysian church....it was a wonderful time of ministry connection.

(PS: Many churches in North America are segregated....and so it wasn't surprising that I minister into many ethnic congregations....)

ICC Canada

Ps Joe Sudirgo of ICCC, has been most welcoming and appreciative....and Billy Gumulja one of the elders had been most helpful. We have had very interesting discussions over lunch on branding, strategy, drivers, structure among other things....I suspect we will be discussing these again sooner rather than later!

I did a Marketplace workshop on Friday night and two other sessions on Saturday morning - it had been a great blessing for those who attended. The feedback was very good.

I spoke on Sunday morning on "The Mindset of a Person" - it was very well received and many stood up in response to the Word of the Lord.

Life Springs Church

I also spoke on Sunday afternoon at Life Spring Church; a congregation of former Malaysians and Singaporean. I had a great time there - even met an ex-Bethelite of Bethel A/G Singapore....what a small world!

I had a great meeting with Ps Thomas and wife, Amy over dinner. They kindly took me out for dinner - and what a godsend in terms of our meeting and encouraging each other....

Ps Alvin Koh was very good at altar call - and following my message, he was able to have a lot of young people standing up for their belief system! PTL!

Los Angeles, CA, USA

Ministry in LA was astounding - up to the few days I wasn't sure if there is ministry in LA itself. I had thought that perhaps the first 7 days of this longest trip is going to be nothing....well maybe a short break in LA!

Finally Ps Eugene Montilla of Valley Praise Church, San Fernando Valley, California agreed to have me minister 3 meetings in his church. Even then I had no one to pick me up at the airport and I wasn't sure of accommodation.....

Well that's history....Ps Eugene was very generous...he arranged to pick me up at the airport (I got a text message whilst transiting thru Sydney when Young Adults Pastor Paul Bitong sms me...I got it whilst sitting in the plane at my assigned seat before the door closes...), put me in a hotel for two days - then stayed the rest of the days with him at his home....awesome God. It was divine assignment all the way...

Ps Eugene & Family - Great Hosts! Ps Steven speaking at Sunday morning

The services were wonderful and many people, especially the Young Adults were greatly impacted and ministered - they are a great bunch of people; hungry for God and great attitude! We had a powerful Holy Spirit Clinic on Spiritual gifting....

I had a great time of fellowship with Ps Eugene, his wife, Dr. Nelly and the two children...

Visiting Places - In-Between

Paul Getty Centre, LA
Mark Ramos took me to visit the Centre - it was beautiful. I enjoyed many great pieces of painting on display.....and was scolded by a security person for holding my finger too close to the exhibits! Not a nice American! (Mark felt so bad that he apologised to me....good on you Mark! You are a kind and generous guy - you will pass...)

I also visited the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum at Mimi Valley, California - at Ps Eugene's expense! It was simply majestic.

More to come as Ps Steven heads to Cuba and Cayman Island for ministry….please continue to pray for him over the next two weeks.
