The Great Land of the North

Hudson Talyor, the great British missionary said that in the last days, there will be a great move of the Holy Spirit in Russia - indeed this great Land of the North is wakening to Jesus! I am simply glad to be a part of God's move in this former Communist country.

I had a wonderful 10-day ministry in three localities - Kaluga, Meshovsk and Moscow. This is my second trip to Russia. It was good and the presence of the Holy Spirit was there. I made many more new friends as well.

I also had the opportunity to meet the Deputy Bishop and the Missions Director of The Russian Church of Evangelical Christians - from our discussions, hopefully I will lead a team of business people to Russia next year with the view to help in their church-planting program throughout the country; a huge country if I may add, a country with a land mass covering 8 time zones!

This is a small town of 5,000 people. I conducted a Finance workshop for the local church. It was fun - lots of questions and arguments! I was bringing new concepts to the place.....but the outcome was good; mindset were challenged and freed.

The Judge was a diehard communist atheist but God saved her. God began to speak to her after a serious car accident and how she views people who come before her in court. Today she is active in the Meshovsk church and also travel [USA and Israel] bearing witness to the goodness and transformation power of Jesus!

Kaluga

This was my first stop - straight from a 24 hour flight [Melbourne-Dubai-Moscow] and then onto a bus for a 3 hour journey to Kaluga.

I was greeted at the bus stop by Eugene, his daughter Yula and friend Dasha. I was to stay with Eugene and his family for my stay here. They are a great family and I never felt more at home!

Workshops

I conducted 2 Finance Workshops in this church - it was reasonably well-attended. The outcome was good. Many people made commitment to save and create wealth for the future....one businessman came to me and placed 2,000 ruble [USD$80] in my hands - he said that "this is not enough to pay you for the workshop..."

I had two good services on Sunday morning - more than 20 people came to the altar to receive Jesus for the first time. I was there when the church was on an outreach to the community. Talk about impeccable timing!

Rehab Centre

I was out on a farm - run by Martin, a Swiss Agricultural Engineer with a heart and passion for Russia. He did a great job - the farm was very well organized and ran; what's this about Swiss precision?

I was most impressed with Martin's work - the fact that he ran the place largely by faith is astounding!

I also conducted a Finance Workshop here in this church. Pastor Vasilli Romunak was very keen for his young people to have a good understanding of where finance sits viz-a-viz the Gospel. I had a good session...

Great Fun

I had great fun in Kaluga - first I went to a Russian Suana [what an experience!], then I was taken out to town by 3 beautiful girls from the church and finally a visit to the Tsiolkovsky State Museum. All work and no play would have made me a dull boy!

Moscow

I came into Moscow by train and was received by Dr. Andrei Blinkov, my host for the second segment of the Russian trip. Andrei & his wife Elina are great hosts - I stayed at their place for 4 nights. Thanks Doctor!

Rehab Work

Pastor Andrei had a Drug Rehab Work and I was privileged to visit the place. I also had the privilege to pray for each of the 8 participants there - and prophetically spoke into their lives...

On the second Sunday I spoke at Dr Andrei's church in Moscow - had a good service where I preached a most practical message. I then prayed for many who had needs.....and finished the day with yet another Finance Workshop.....I call this changing mindset and allowing people to serve with a sense of abundance.
