Amazing China

I believe God has a place for China. China is one not without a great Christian heritage - thanks to missionaries who did such a great job in the past. Although Communist in government and system, the Christian faith has always been around. Despite many difficulties many Christians remain faithful and strong - and today they are growing in strength and influence. Praise God.

I was simply grateful to God that I now have a small part to play in this big Chinese picture....I had great ministry in the week that I was in FuQing, Fujian Province. This is my second trip to the city and I thoroughly enjoyed the ministry. My Chinese hosts were most kind and hospitable. I was treated to many sumptuous meals where ever I was ministering.

Fu Hua Church

This beautiful church is right in the heart of the city. It is 3,000 strong and carries a significant influence in the city.

Rong Tian Church

This is the second 3-Self Church that I ministered in. I was there on Saturday night for their Youth meeting. It was well-attended and I was privileged to present gifts to a graduating Bible Class.

I also prayed for many individuals at the end of the service including the entire leadership team of the church; elders, deacons, preachers and pastors. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so evident there that night - my interpreter was shaking with God's presence.

Hai Kou Church

This third 3-Self Church is near the coast facing the island of Taiwan. It is a beautiful church. 500 people were there on Sunday morning and together with my interpreter, we prayed for 100 people over 2 hours after the service. We anointed many with oil and prayed for oppressions to be broken and lives set free. Even the pastors and elders came forward for prayers. You could see that God was touching so many of them.

During our prayers, we led two people to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The amazing thing is that people actually fight in the Q to be prayed first!

FuQing Bible Training Centre

What a privilege to minister and teach in an official Bible School. The big surprise is that the majority of the student population is young - under 27 years old. Most of them are studying for two years and will then serve as full-time workers upon graduation. I am excited about young people dedicating their lives for the service of the Lord.

The Bible School is most modern - complete with guest room which is hotel-like. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the facility.

I taught 8 sessions over three days and preached in two Chapel services. On the last day, they combined classes for my final two sessions [150 students in all]. What an honor to minister to future leaders!

The Generosity of Others....

Ministry is only possible because others are kind enough to assist us and to empower us. They work in collaboration with us, often in the most unassuming manner. God always connect people to showcase His glory - and His glory is most pronounced when we work in unity and help each other.

I had two people who did that for me in China....

Timothy Chu - Bible School Teacher and pastor
[ Timothy served as my interpreter; Timothy is wonderfully bilingual ]

The Wong Family in Shanghai - Yew Keong & May are from Bethel A/G, Singapore; now stationed in Shanghai.
[ They paid my airfare from Shanghai to FuZhou and associated transportation costs, helped us on our Beijing trip and additionally we stayed in their apartment for 4 nights ]

Thank God for His servants who are willing to serve....Amen!
