Preaching the Gospel to the poor
I was most privilged to minister the Gospel in Myanmar - the Golden Land.
The country is full of pagodas - it is unbelievable just how many temples there are in Myanmar. I made a 5-hour trip to the country and pagodas are dotted all along the journey. This country needs Jesus - and I was most happy to make a small contribution.

Ps PS of Whitehorse Community Church had been instrumental in connecting me with churches in Yangon. He was a great help indeed. His charitable missions [GraceWorks Myanmar] is doing wonderfully in this poor country.
We caught up in Yangon - I came in as he was going out! We had a day where he arranged for me to meet many people. It was great fellowship all round.

I spoke at the church camp in Shwe Paukkon New Township. It was a great time of imparting the Word to many, especially the young ones. Facility was minimal and transportation was very diffuclt - as a result I could not speak during the night's meetings. Still the day sessions were great and God moved wonderfully.

Ps Steven with Youth Pastor PT - the young pastor bought me breakie on my last day in Yangon. Thanks buddy!
Ps ST
I met Ps ST, missionary to Myanmar on the first night I arrived. Ps ST was my brother Ken's contact. We had coffee and great fellowship - Ps ST had to leave the next day for a short break.
Still he arranged for me to minister to his team of leaders whilst he was away - we had a great time. The leaders and pastors were full-time people and they came from 3 churches under his supervision [Yangon NLC, Upper Room and Yangon EFC].

Ps A was very kind in inviting me to his home for dinner on a Thursday night. There I met a few new friends. The dinner was very well served and the food was good. Ps A also took me shopping on a Saturday where I bought a couple of oil paintings - really inexpensive! Thanks Ps A!

Water Festival
I was in Myanmar during the Water Festival - New Year in the Buddhist calender. The nation was on a five-day holiday. And it was customary for people to spray [some seek to be sprayed] water on others as a form of "cleansing". I was wet at least 10 times as I traveled to and from the camp site and various places. How glad I am that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sins!

Ps Mang S
It was good to meet Ps Mang S from GTP for Mission, a Melbourne based ministry to the nation of Myanmar. Ps PS introduced Ps Mang S and we had great fellowship. Fancy meeting Mang S for the first time [ in Yangon ] when he lives in Hallam, 15 minutes away from my home in Mulgrave.
I was privilged to visit Mang S's work and had a great view of Yangon by night.

Connecting to Ps Mang ST was a God thing. We had a marvellous time of ministry in various places across Yangon including a 5 hour bus trip to the city of Bilin. God moved wonderfully - many were filled with the Holy Spirit, touched by the Lord and a few testified of healings!

Getting back....
Nursery at Shwe Pyi Tha
Ps Mang ST had a nursery at Shwe Pyi Tha - an outreach helping poor parents with young children. This is a good site for a church plant. The young pastor and his wife are keen to get started.

Outreach with Ps Kam
This new township on the outskirt of Yangon is targeted for a church plant. I met Ps Kam and spoke at his home. The electricity wasn't supplying and we had the meeting by candlelight.

God's Partnership Church, Bilin
It took us 5 hours to get to this city - it is a "brown" city; not a really good place for a visitor to go! I was unaware and no one told me but it was just as well. The place was poor but the hunger for God was great. Six people were filled with the Holy Spirit during our meeting.

The bus trip to Bilin and back was most intersting. Firstly the bus wasn't the most comfortable; it was not airconditioned and packed like sardines. Secondly the toilet stops were most uncomfortable. The upside was that I got to see the country side and here's an interesting one....

Grasshoppers for lunch, anyone?
International CC (AG)
It was a privileged to minister at the ICC, Yangon. The pastor of this church was the one that I helped raise support through my oil painting [Singapore Exhibition] for his heart operation in Bangkok. It is good to know that he is well now - and in fact was travelling to Bangkok for a routine check-up during my visit.
I was very pleased to meet a couple of Malaysians from DUMC during the Sunday morning service.
Sunday was a good time of praying for many individuals.

Yangon NLC
My last meeting was with Ps ST's YNLC on Sunday afternoon. It was held at the YMCA. What a wonderful time of the word and prayers for many individuals who came at the end of the service requesting for prayer.
The music in this church is great - lively, jumpy and contemporary. Awesome God! I simply love the young people of this church - there is potential here.

Ps A - an excellent keyboardist!

A much younger congregation.
