Impacting a City!

Ministry in Tacloban City, Leyte Island, Central Philippines was awesome. Read what Ps Dennis has to say, "The pastors were charged up and we had been fasting and gathering at the stadium each morning at 7am to pray for the city. God has used your team to fan the flame within us and tore down strongholds that restraint the pastors to work together."

Awesome God! We had such a great time ministering, giving and sharing our hearts out!

I was privileged to travel with Ps Enzo Maisano of The Melbourne Worship Centre [MWC] and Nathan Winterbine. We were a team. We were a great team. Together we truly blessed the City of Tacloban. It was such a joy to be able to sow into this provincial town.

Metro Tacloban Evangelical Association of Ministers & Churches

Our first engagement was to attend and minister at a pastors prayer meeting. These are pastors from across denominations meeting, fellowshipping and praying for the city. We had a wonderful time of speaking into pastors' lives. Many were touched by God.

Many pastors received prophetic words - some of which were so pointed that many started to break down.

It was good start to a tremendous week of ministry.

Eastern Visayas State University

In the afternoon, we were stomping the grounds of this University. Working in conjunction with Campus Crusade and Agape Ministry, we were able to visit various lecture rooms [and speak for a few minutes] to students of different faculties.

We also distributed a handbook [Book of Hope] which is a contemporary version of the Bible. Many students were receiving and reading the book.

Evangelistic Meeting - EVSU
We had an oureach meeting that night at the Uni ground. Ps Enzo spoke about "Sex and Relationships". It was a great night. He became known also as "Dr. Love". Many young people, mainly young men came to receive Jesus as Lord that night. It was so wonderful!

The Vice Mayor's Office

It was really good that we were able to pray for the Vice Mayor's office. Ps Enzo shared an encouragement with the staff - he stated that "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people". We then prayed for the Office and staff.

Visit To Paglaum Village

After the Vice Mayor's office we traveled a distance to be at this village. The local name for the village is "Hope". It was a much neglected and Ps Dennis and team were assisting this village with whatever they can - including painting the local school for them.

We shared encouraging words from scriptures and then prayed for all the village elders and leaders. I laid hands and prayed for the Village Captain. The team prayed for many people including some of the sick ones. We then treated the village elders to a lunch treat. It was a good morning!

Combined Churches Youth Meeting

We had a geat time with the youth of this city. God moved powerfully that night - and many were kneeling at the altar seeking forgiveness and wanting a new start with the Lord. It is always a great pleasure to touch young lives for Jesus!

Setting Captive Free

Before we visited the Kids Zone, we were called out to pray for a young demon-possessed boy. We set out early and by 7.30AM were in the village and in the home of the boy [really more a shack]. He was manifesting and being pinned down by 7 people although a scrawny little fellow.

We laid anointing oil and prayed and within 15 minutes he was OK. He became calm and relax - giving us a chance to minister to the family. I have discovered that the devil always want attention - deny him that and in Jesus name he will have to go. The whole family [Mum, two sisters and a brother] accepted the Lord as savior and the next day, they were all in church! Wonderful God.

Xtreme Kids Zone

Ps Dennis and Daisy established a Kids Zone Ministry in the poorest slum of Tacloban City. It was a very poor place - sanitation was bad and the whole place smells. But in the midst of that, a brilliant kids work was being done.

There must have been at least fifty kids there that morning - we had a great time taking pictures and they loved being photographed! This is a wonderful work of giving hope to the young in this place. I especially like the dedication of the teachers....they are champions!

Buruean Community

We paid a visit to Ps Mark Anderton and Margaret Pashley in Buruean, about half an hour ride from Tacloban City. What a sumptuous meal we had with Belen and Mark at their home!

Ps Enzo had his radio ministry to the community before our lunch. It was great to hear him "live" in the next room, preaching a message of "bouncing back" - a message of hope!

We also visited the Centre for Change - Margaret's work to save the "stray" kids in the island. She had a great work and many kids are given a second chance to education, home and a meaningful life because of her work. And it all started because she felt something must be done for these children. Awesome God!

Oh by the way, the coconut shake served by Margaret was heaven!

Visit to the Prison

We visited the National Police lock-up facility in Tacloban City. It was a very sad environment. My heart goes out to those people in remand. The facility was minimal to say the least.

Nathan preached a great message of hope - that we can be free on the inside even if we are locked up on the outside. The response was astounding - many of the prisoners were weeping, most softly. When it was time for people to accept Jesus as Lord, all of them raised their hands to indicate acceptance of the Lord.

Ministry among the Churches

Sunday - and we were ministering in our own rights. Each of us went our separate directions to preach and minister in vaious churches around the city.

New Life Christian Missions [NLCM]
Ps Enzo ministered in NLCM [missions work of New Life Centre, Singapore]. He had an awesome time. He ministered to many at the altar and was a tremendous blessing to many individuals. Many were weeping before the Lord.

New Life Christian Church [NLCC]
This is our favorite church - it was lively and man, it was fun! The atmosphere of the church was astounding. These young people knew how to worship.

Nathan preached a first class message and God was in the house!

Pastoral & Leaders Conference

It was the best Conference I have had, period.

I was thrilled to see more than 116 people. Ps Dennis Koh was over the moon. It was not only well attended but it was a great conference. The presence of God was there and many, many lives and ministries were touched and transformed.

I have never seen such a big offering collected in this city. Of course, we were only too happy to sow the money back to the city. We distributed through Ps Dennis' help all the money to 5 churches and ministries. What an awesome time of inflection points!

Singapore Royal Rangers

I was privileged to minister at an Advance JTC for the National Royal Rangers in Singapore. I spoke the first two nights and Nathan spoke on the Friday night.

God showed up on the 3rd night - many were in tears and many more were lying on the grass. It was outdoor council fire service. Even the commanders were being prayed for! Awesome God.

These young teens were wonderfully blessed.
