It is awesome to serve God

ministry-0015-20.jpg

The Himalayan mountains are majestic to say the least. The country is beautiful but poor. Nepal has one of the world's poorest economy and is grappling with an increasingly violent insurgency problem. Still the Holy Spirit is moving. Grace is still abounding.

Pastors Conference, Kathmandu

The Pastors Conference was only half full. Many of the leaders were absent. The insurgency (Maoist) blockade of Kathmandu was effective. It stopped most traffic from flowing into the Valley. This prevented many pastors from the Central Region attending the Conference.

Still, for the over a hundred participants, we had a wonderful time. God's presence was very real. He ministered to many and allowed encouragement in the hearts of the leaders. Many were weeping at the altars. Many more were made aware of the season they are in - "for such a time as this". Their nation stands at a crossroad today. Pray for the peace of God in Nepal.

Enjoy the selection of the photos.

Banepa Harvest Centre

The School of Ministry is doing very well. It has to date assisted in planting ten new churches in various parts of the country. Many more candidates are applying for acceptance. It was a pleasure to teach in the Centre. More funds are needed to keep expansion in tandem with the demand for training and preparation.

Their mission is to plant 200 churches in 20 years and growing each church to 200 people within 2 years. I rather like the expansionist vision of the pastors.

Banepa AOG Church

This church of over a thousand people is thriving in the Lord. Yet the church operates out of a shed with mud brick walls and zinc roof. It is too cold in winter and too hot in summer!

The pastor is now looking to building a church that will cost S$50,000. I was so touched by their vision and efforts that I contributed seed money to help them. Join me in helping them build the kingdom of God. If you wish to contribute, contact Jason at livelife@swissmail.org

Naya Jiwan Church

It was a pleasure to preach in this vibrant church. There were two services. I took the first session and Ps James Lee preached the next. The response of the congregation was very good. People were hungry for God.

This church is the site for the Pastoral Conference. Most of their leaders and pastors were involved in the program. There was good improvement to the infrastructure of the church from a year ago - indeed an effective leadership through Pastor Suman.

Shalom AOG Church

I was invited to speak at Shalom AOG the day before the event. It was a God assignment. I had a prophetic word for the Church - God wants to give the church a "different spirit", much like Caleb of the Old Testament.

The Holy Spirit inspiration was there and many were touched by Him. At the end of the service, I specifically prayed for the pastors and leaders of the church. God is going to do exploits in this church!

My travelling campanion, Steven Ting was requested to speak at a School of Ministry graduation here. It was wonderful service. More than 40 people graduated and ready to serve.

Time Out

I was glad that I took a day off. It was Democracy Day in Kathmandu (a irony given the recent events in the country). It was a holiday. My friends and I took time out to rest in the highlands. We also visited the Benepa Harvest Centre to view existing factility and understand its expansion program. A visit to the royal palace of the old kingdom is a must. The palace is a world heritage site.

Bekasi, Indonesia

God is moving in Indonesia. People are hungry and full of faith. I was teaching for four days in Rhema Bible Institute, Bekasi (an hour out of Jakarta).

Students were exemplary. It was pure pleasure teaching them. I taught on Leadership principles complete with models and illustrations. On Friday we had chapel and every student was prayed for. Many were in tears crying out to the Lord. Praise God - He is raising a generation to plant churches everywhere in the country.

I was very pleased to connect with an old friend, Pastor Philip Lee and his wife, Monica.

We had a great "mini" seminar on wealth and ownership. This was very well received by all who attended that Saturday afternoon. Everyone agreed that they should be a full scale one in the near future. Ps James Lee preached his best sermon ever!

Sunday service was unique in that the church celebrated Chinese New Year with a platform resembling a Chinese restaurant. The Holy Spirit still moved - many people were touched by God.
