4th Itinerary Trip - 2004 Apr

Dear Friends,

I have just completed a week visiting Dubai, UAE. This is my first ministry trip to the country. It is good to travel with Dr. Kameel Majdali, the former Principal of Harvest Bible College.

Throughout the trip, I again saw the wonder of God's power to save, heal, deliver, comfort, encourage, inspire and strengthen individuals. Dr. Kameel is a wonderful speaker and teacher. He moves freely in the prophetic and is a Holy Spirit man. This is a learning curve for me.

It was good to be back in Singapore ministering in The House of Prayer church. It was good to catch up with friends. Meeting my cousin was also a real treat.

Blessings,

Steven Teo

United Arab Emirates

Dubai

Spoke in a healing service at a local church. The Lord moved wonderfully that night. I was praying for a long line of people including the pastor and his family.

However, in the main, I was traveling with Dr. Kameel Majdali and learning from him the rope of ministry, if you like.

Ministry Time

Still, I was privileged to minister during the altar sessions. Each time, when an altar call was given, many would respond, queuing up in line for their turn with each minister. This gave me the privilege of praying and speaking into many lives. Ministry time would usually last around an hour.

The UAE is a Muslim nation. But the expatriate community is sizeable, around 75% of the total population it appears. Many nationals are in the church although principally Sri Lankans, Indians and Filipino. I am struck by the fact that many were asking for proxy prayers. You see they left behind their family members at home to work in the UAE. Hence the needs at home became a pressing problem for many.

Dr. Kameel had a great ministry time. I too enjoyed his ministry. I am only too glad to assist during ministry time. Still this gave me an experience that I otherwise would not have obtained.

We have had many rounds of discussion regarding our efforts for Teach All Nations Inc. I believe we are better positioned now to assist each other in ministry. Kameel is a great mentor and I really appreciate his kind support of my budding ministry.

I was meant to go to Lebanon but felt that the Lord wanted me home in Singapore. I was troubled on at least three occasions and decided at the end to obey the still small voice. Thus I came into Singapore a week early. I was wondering why.

Revival

There is an atmosphere of revival in the church in Dubai. It is amazing that in the nation of Islam, the church is more than thriving. The Holy Spirit is certainly moving in this church.

Overall, Dubai is a modern city. The Burj-Al-Arab, the world's only 7-star hotel is a masterpiece. The very design is interesting in that one can see a cross from the seaward side. We were privileged to view the hotel close up at no cost whatsoever (it would have cost A$90 just to enter the hotel) due to courtesy of a church member. This feels like an interesting beachhead for the Gospel in the Arabian Peninsula.

Singapore

God@Work Church

I came into Singapore early. I went to Pastor Lawrence Seow's church. I was pleasantly surprised to meet my cousin and his wife. We had a quick time of catching up on the past. We also had a round of prayer. It was good. I was brought back to Singapore early for "such a time as this".

The Lord gave me a special treat. I had a game of golf at the Island Country Club. I also caught up with old friends from work and CNL.

The House of Prayer

I ministered in two services here - one to the Youth and the Sunday service. It was a lovely time to see God touched young people. Sunday morning was a great time of ministry to many. My good friend and former classmate, Bro. Kevin Chan had been a great help. Pastor Ban It is a great guy, a man with a great spirit.

AG Annual Conference

I had breakfast with Rev. Dr. Patrick Lau - thanks to a wonderful mutual friend of ours. Dr. Lau was extremely gracious. He invited me to attend the AG Annual Meeting. I did and he promptly introduced me to the gathering ministers!

It was good to catch up with old friends - Pastor James Singh and my brother Pastor Ken Teo.

Burj-Al-Arab - the symbol of the UAE.

Designed by a Christian - the seaward side shows the symbol of the Cross! The Saudis wanted it destroyed.

The City view from the Persian Gulf.

This in the heart of Islam? A real beach head for the Gospel?

King's Revival Church - 3,500 strong.

Dr. Kameel preaching in KRC.
